Welcome to 2024! This year is poised to be just as unpredictable as everything
else has been since the pandemic.
The more we try to normalise the harder it seems to become. Living costs have increase a whopping 30% across the board and politics spiralled into nearly everything; wokeness, conservativism, climate debate, it was all being force fed to us through our biggest corporations.
Well, at least sugar has avoided political division in our culture, most people already know its not great for your health and wellbeing.
But don't throw out your chocolate just yet. Read the articles in our library this month first:

Some medical journal studies suggest that sugar is as addictive as cocaine.
An article published in the British Journal of Medicine says sugar could
act as a gateway to alcohol and other addictive substances, adding that sugar, like cocaine and opium, is refined from plants to yield pure white crystals – a process they say, “significantly adds to its addictive properties.”
The consumption of sugar produces effects similar to that of cocaine, altering mood, possibly through its ability to induce
reward and pleasure, leading to the seeking out of sugar. Some studies show that sweetness is preferred even over cocaine, and that we can experience sugar withdrawal. Sugar is probably the most consumed addictive substance around the world, and it is wreaking havoc on our health.
While it is true that a liking for sweet things can be habit-forming it is not addictive like opiates or
cocaine.
Sugar is in everything and is one of the modern era’s most effective preservative. Where the problem lies is that there are huge amounts of sugar that are put into various foods that substantially boost the calorie content of those foods.
So, go and educate yourself about the good, the bad and the ugly in regards to sugar.
