Last month in my newsletter I made an appeal for a new therapist. My waiting list has become so long that I was determined to find some help for the clinic. I was a little surprised that I didn’t get a response. My first thought was shock. I have a good size readership for my newsletter, did I really get no response. What’s wrong? Then a moment later I searched for something more positive about the
situation.
That is me in a nutshell. Whenever I am faced with a poor outcome, I come up with positive attributes to counter any negative ones. Then I thought that perhaps I should advertise for help on social media. Then I thought OMG Social media, what a mine field.
As a business if you are not in social media you have no chance. Smart phones and smart technologies are a new form of slavery. Unpaid work earning money for big companies. No need for unions anymore as no one has been employed. Bouncing from my positive thoughts to less positive. It was a micro crisis in all its glory!
It was at this moment that I realized my micro crises was not real and the real issue was; that I was hungry. I had been getting heaps done all morning and worked past my rest and revitalise period. The very thing I warn my patients about. When the simultaneous conflicting feelings of self-doubt and positive projections kicked in, I realised that I needed to stop and refresh.
The funny part of this story is that after my break, feeling centred again after eating a healthy meal, my mind came back to me immediately. The emotional part of my micro crises was gone. So I got back to work and when I was cleaning out my junk mail, I noticed a notification from my server that my newsletter mailing (of last month) was interrupted and only small readership was reached. The
message had been unread for a month. This was the reason I did not get a response to my call for new therapists.
It is all too funny and highlights the importance of eating well and in reasonable intervals. My husband is doing intermittent fasting at the moment with a very small 4-hour window from 4-8pm daily . He only eats during this time and rests his digestive system for 20 hours. He is doing well after 6 weeks and has reduced his inflammation drastically. However between 12 Noon and 4 pm I try not to have
much interaction with him because he becomes very immovable about things. He calls it being Hangry ( Hunger + Anger). Impossible to deal with during this period. So I wait till he eats at 4 PM and he agrees to anything I say.
Nutrition is real, balanced eating regimes and time frames are real. Even though they are all individual things this doesn’t exclude our responsibility to ourselves to try and chart our nutritional needs. Further we have to recognise these intervals and needs, need to be updated and changed as things change for us. Set and forget is a fantasy when it comes to human beings and nutrition because our lives
change all the time. Great for the thermostat of your house or your regular bank payments, but no good for nutrition and an optimally functioning brain.
We just need to observe the signs as we descend down the rabbit hole and lose ourselves in negative thought patterns or bouncing emotions. We have to ask the simple question. Am I hungry, dehydrated or having a gluten(toxic) reaction? You will be surprised at how easily we are triggered by one of these three things.
As a celiac I know full well about food intolerances. Bad enough if you have one of them, but I am also lactose intolerant and don’t do well with sugars.
Food intolerance will be one of the main focuses of our library contributions this month and we will be looking at fructose and histamines.
In addition to monthly vetted additions to our library it has always been my practice to regularly try new health products to judge for myself their effectiveness before I recommend them to a patient or comment about them. Don’t you wish big pharma did the same? Never mind.
I'm happy to now recommend the new Rainbow Zencleanz. I just finished my 7-day detox fast and liver flush and was positively surprised at what came out of me, despite me having done 56 fasts and 27 Liver flushes over the years. It is super simple to do as it is laid out to you step by step, it is reasonably priced (for what you get) and most importantly with fasting, you won’t be
hungry 😊
We have been trying to secure some of the Rainbow Zencleanz kits for the clinic as patients have asked for them. However this is proving difficult. Long waits for overseas shipping due to the pandemic have sadly reduced availability.
That said, you can get the kits through the link below; I would recommend this product to those of you who want to self-administer a detox retreat experience without the significant expense.
Just get your kitchen timer and book yourself into a local Airbnb. No dishes to wash, no work to do. You can treat yourself to a massage every day and a colonic or two and save yourself thousands of $$$ creating your own detox getaway.
Keep enjoying the warm weather while it is not too hot.
All the best
