An exciting new discovery that will help us cope with COVID madness!
These are some highly emotional times we are living through, fueled by media of all forms.
The news cycle of fear and division continues to influence everything and is an ever-changing bombardment of slogans that we are all meant to repeat, whether they make sense or not.
As a Naturopath and colon hydrotherapist I have a good understanding about how emotions are affecting our colon and at the moment many of my patients are suffering because of the uncertainty of our lives.
One patient spoke of the anxiety of her son being arrested in a COVID lockdown protest. She was distraught and we provided some relief, but let’s face it; one way or another every one of us is affected by the madness around us and it is having a profound impact on our health.
Other discussions I have had present a similar sentiment.
Feeling stuck. Even though we know that the whole world is dealing with the same issue the sheer weight of COVID has impacted us all, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially.
It’s like a trap. How can you give up thinking and worrying about the things that way you down when they are staring you in the face every day?
At Vitalis health our work is empowering people through awareness to better health through natural holistic means and we remind everyone:
- That our colon has a lot to do with our emotions and our thinking, the logical first step is to literally eliminate the physical shit first.
- That this will bring relieve and clear up toxins, which allows us to think clearer which in turn allows us to feel better overall.
- That there is a lot of wisdom in knowing that we cannot change certain things. We do not have to be slaves to our emotions and follow the downward spiral.
- That our thinking is free and we have the choice to swim against the negative stream of information that we are bombarded with.
- That we can turn off the TV and smell the roses. Allow our brain to be free. Meditate and cook some nurturing meals.
- That we can feed ourselves physically and mentally whatever we choose.
- Finally, that all this will not only support our longevity, but also increase the likelihood that we do not have to have a colonoscopy and deal with polyps because of all this stress.
That is the clinic advice. But then I thought to myself. Of course, people will embrace these tenants as fundamental to health but they need more. Something to upregulate their feelings, something that creates hope, something that will work every time to lift their spirits, thus lifting their immune capability, something that will cure the woes of
COVID.
So, I asked a few people; a young person I asked thought it should be an app, a person who lost their job to COVID thought a financial subsidy. My favorite barista thought a cappuccino machine in every home in Australia would lift our spirits.
Finally, I asked my husband and he thought that a snuggle would certainly help.
He argued that a snuggle was better than any Bach flower remedy, and felt certainly better than a COVID jab. He said no one feels bad when their getting a snuggle, child, teenager or grandpa, dog or cat. It doesn’t matter as long as you get the snuggle.
So, it dawned on me: “Emergency Snuggling” could be useful in extreme emotional situations.
Snuggling upregulates everything. Emergency snuggling can be used by anyone when emotional emergencies occur.
Snuggle mania seems to be the way forward. My husband decided to open a snuggle university and call it the "Academy of Snuggle Mania".
Of course, he was joking but it’s not such a bad idea. I have certainly heard worse ones throughout the pandemic.
My only hope is that I can part this wisdom to my readers without anyone labelling me as fake news. This highly unconventional tactic which I promise has a good effect would certainly be seen as unscientific. Non-medical gibberish. Something to be taken down from Youtube in order to protect the public. Of course, I jest, but I honestly think Emergency Snuggling is not a bad
idea.
Of course, I can’t give all of my patients snuggles and we can’t turn to others in the supermarket and ask for a snuggle, but we can all seek out a snuggle partner and introduce the concept of emergency snuggling!
